I’m a daring baker!

A couple of months ago I decided to sign up for The Daring Baker, and this month I finally got around to taking a challenge. (Last month was Tres Leches cake which I just don’t like, at all). This month, Hannah of Rise and Shine was our October 2013 Daring Bakers’ hostess and she challenged us to … Continue reading

Building a house is stressful.

We’re in the countdown to breaking ground on our house (pre-construction meeting next week), and let’s just say shit is getting real. I had no clue how stressful the design process would be. I did my research, I had my general outline of what I wanted in my head and I set my budget limit. … Continue reading

I’m building a house!

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks. After dragging the poor kids around open house after open house every weekend since we’ve been here, we realised we wanted to build our own place. I’m trying to lose weight

Well it’s January, isn’t that what we’re all supposed to be doing?! Seriously though, after having my annual physical last month my doctor advised me that my weight, and cholesterol level were too high. Initially she suggested that I simply cut out carbs, but that wasn’t doing too much so my husband and I decided … Continue reading

I added a Flickr stream

I decided to put together a little gallery of my cakes, since they’re all hidden away in my Facebook photos. Enjoy! (It’s over there, on the right). You can also follow me on Pinterest if you’re (p)interested…sorry.

I’m ditching the cow

While we wait for Kyle’s therapy to begin for his speech issues, I’m trying anything and everything that may possibly help. One of the therapists suggested we have him tested for celiac’s disease, since he has suffered with severe constipation since birth, which got me thinking and a little research later, I’m hoping that … Continue reading

My baby is now a toddler!

Today Kyle turned 2, officially ending the baby years. He still isn’t talking but it feels like he is on the verge of it. When we were contemplating our second child we never dreamed it would go the way it did – extremely difficult pregnancy, and then even worse, finding out he was going to … Continue reading

I need stronger meds

Wow. It’s been two weeks since we got the ‘news’. One of the things the doctor stressed was that we need to stop telling Kiki off for behavior that she really can’t help – things like not listening, getting distracted, losing stuff etc. Easier said than done.

Hello world!

My name is Jen and…I have a few confessions. I’m a stay at home mom who doesn’t love being at home. I have two kids that drive me crazy. And I shop way too much. Join me as I brave 2012!
